Daily Momentum is an employee benefit designed to support your personal growth, funded by your employer. Your coaching journey is entirely private and confidential.

Your Employer Cannot See Your Data: Your company receives absolutely no information about your individual coaching sessions, goals, responses, or progress. They do not know what you discuss with your coach, nor can they identify who is participating in the service beyond simple aggregated utilization statistics (ee.g., "X% of invited employees have started coaching").

No Individual Reporting: We do not provide any reports, analytics, or dashboards to your employer that contain individual employee data, sentiment analysis, or insights into your personal conversations. The only metrics the employer has access to is your level of interaction with the system (e.g., "x% of days active over the last 30 days"). We may, in the future, provide more metrics without exposing any goals or discussions, but not without review and approval from employees in our product design programs.

Your Data Stays Private: Your personal coaching data, including your SMS conversations and stated goals, is yours alone. It is encrypted and secured to ensure it remains confidential.

What Information We Collect

To provide you with personalized and effective coaching, we collect the following types of information:

Contact Information:

Phone Number: Used to deliver your SMS coaching. Your phone number is immediately converted into an irreversible SHA-256 hash with a unique salt upon receipt and is never stored in plain text.

Email Address: Used for initial account setup and for sending verification codes. This is typically your work email for eligibility verification but is not used for employer reporting.

First Name: To personalize your coaching experience.

Onboarding Information:

Coach Name Preference: What you'd like to call your AI coach.

Selected Goals: Up to two concurrent personal or professional goals you choose from our categories (e.g., Health, Career, Relationships, Financial, Creative, Lifestyle). These are for your coaching personalization only.

Goal Motivation: Your explanation for choosing these goals, used by the AI to better understand and support you. It is stored securely and is never linked back to your employer or viewable by Daily Momentum staff.

Check-in Time Preference: Your preferred time for daily coaching messages.

Coaching Interaction Data:

Conversation History: The record of your SMS exchanges with your Daily Momentum coach. This data is essential for the AI to provide continuous, context-aware, and personalized coaching. It is stored securely and is never linked back to your employer or viewable by Daily Momentum staff.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the purpose of delivering and improving your personalized coaching experience:

Personalized Coaching: To provide daily reflections, questions, and support tailored to your chosen goals and conversation history.

Service Delivery: To send you SMS messages at your preferred times and manage your account.

Security: To verify your identity and protect your account (e.g., PIN authentication, hashed phone numbers).

Service Improvement: To analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to enhance the overall coaching effectiveness for all users, without linking to any individual.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to your direct coaching experience.

How We Protect Your Information

We employ robust technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data, adhering to HIPAA-adjacent privacy standards:

Encryption: All sensitive data, including your conversation history, is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

Data Hashing: Your phone number is immediately hashed using SHA-256 with a unique salt, making it irreversible.

Access Controls: Strict role-based access controls limit internal access to sensitive data to only those necessary for critical system operations, subject to audit logging.

Secure Infrastructure: We host our services on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing its advanced security features, including Firestore's native security capabilities.

PIN Authentication: Your account is secured with a personal PIN for critical actions like pausing coaching.

Our Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Daily Momentum leverages advanced AI to provide your personalized coaching. We partner with Anthropic for our current AI models (Claude Sonnet 4 API) and have implemented strict protocols:

AI for Coaching, Not Surveillance: The AI processes your conversation history to understand your context and generate relevant, supportive coaching responses. It is designed to assist your personal growth, not to analyze or report on you.

No AI Training Data: Anthropic has committed that API data submitted through Daily Momentum will not be used to train their models. Your private conversations remain private.

Crisis Detection and Safety Exception [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW]:

3. Your employer will NOT be notified and will NOT have access to your message content. We maintain our zero-surveillance privacy commitment even during safety interventions.

Important Limitations:
- Our crisis detection is automated and may not identify all crisis situations
- This is not a substitute for professional crisis intervention services
- If you are in immediate danger, always contact 911 or local emergency services directly

This safety exception is implemented solely to protect user wellbeing in emergency situations and represents the only circumstance under which Daily Momentum staff may access your message content.
